The Scion Tuner Challenge 2014 is well underway with exactly one month left before the debut of 3 fully built Scion FR-S at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 4th. Every year Scion likes to mix up the format of their annual builder’s competition. This year they have decided to work with 3 media companies representing different mediums of media to see who can build the best FR-S. CSF has been called upon to be the cooling supplier for two of the three teams that have been selected to compete, Speedhunters.com and the GT Channel representing Internet and video respectively.
CSF at the Scion Tuner Challenge
CSF will be supplying both Speedhunters and GT Channel, whose car is being built by CSFs other media partner MotoIQ.com, our industry leading Scion Fr-S/Subaru BRZ all-aluminum radiator (CSF #7050). CSF has also supplied the world’s 1st all-aluminum filler neck and high-pressure cap module which CSF will be debuting at this year’s SEMA show as well.
The new CSF aluminum fillerneck replaces the OEM plastic unit, and also includes a 1.4 bar (20psi) high-pressure mini sized radiator cap.

After watching the trailer, how could you not be excited for this competition!?! Let’s break down what has been done by the three teams so far.
So far Speedhunters.com has done the best job covering their team’s build. Technical editor and good friend, Ketih Charvonia, has been put in charge of the build, and is actually building a major portion of the car himself! Keith helped us design the fillerneck, and has already installed our radiator in his personal FR-S earlier this year. You can check out the install feature of our radiator on Speedhunters.com here!
Our upgraded all-aluminum radiator gets rid of the weak OEM plastic tanks, and has twice the capacity of the OEM unit.

The most recent story covers the livery design choices that they commissioned famous car automotive designer Andy Blackmore to help out with. They’ve asked their readers to help with the 3 similar livery choices to go over the modified Rocket Bunny KM4SH kit. Head over to Speedhunters to cast your vote!

GT CHANNEL at the Scion Tuner Challenge
MotoIQ was recruited by GT Channel to build their vehicle. Not much has been reported on the build yet, but with the connections of both companies, you know there will be some major and unexpected components added to this team’s build. They’ve recently announced their aero partner, who is none other then famous Japanese Nissan GT-R tuning company Mines.
This team hasn’t released much else yet, but expect the unexpected from this dark horse.

SUPER STREET at the Scion Tuner Challenge
The 3rd team in the Scion Tuner Challenge 2014 is Super Street, representing the print medium. Super Street is highly regarded as the leading sport compact publication, and is led by editor Sam Du. While CSF is not supporting this team, I’m sure they have a few tricks up their sleeve as well. Scion just released an update article with a few pictures and a video to go along with it as well.
Not much released from this team either, but they do plan on using the Rocket Bunny V2 kit as a base. On top of that they’ve enlisted famous automotive designer & illustrator, Jon Sibal, to take the vehicle to the next level. This team will surly bring the heat to the competition at the Scion Tuner Challenge.
We can’t wait to see what all three teams bring to the table when the cars are released inside the Scion booth at the 2014 SEMA show.
