529 Innovations teamed up with iABED Industries and CSF to make their Oil Cooler Kits for use on A3/S3, TT/TT-S, Golf/GTI, and Jetta with the EA888.3 & EA888.4 turbocharged 4-cylinder engines. These kits have been track tested and proven to lower both Engine and Oil temperatures.
This kit provides a fully divorced, thermostatically controlled oil cooling system so that both engine and oil temps can be regulated independently.

Design & Engineering
529 Innovations has spent many hours on track learning the shortcomings of these Audi and VW platforms and where improvements can be made. Engine oil temperatures become a continual issue in many track sessions and they decided to engineer a solution.
By-Pass/Feed Plate
The first step was to partner with iABED Industries to develop an oil cooler feed plate that would separate/divorce the engine coolant system from the oil system. The result is their billet aluminum oil cooler bypass plate with a built-in thermostat that uses -10AN lines to create a separate oil cooler loop.
The By-Pass Plate bolts into the factory location for the OE Oil Cooler separating the engine coolant system from the oil cooler system. This means lower engine coolant temps as well as allowing for a larger and more efficient oil cooler.
529 Innovations by CSF Oil Cooler
Their Variant 3 system uses a large oil cooler based on the CSF #8132 DSG Cooler / High-Performance Auxiliary Radiator. The oil cooler made specifically for 529 Innovations is a dual pass design that bolts into the factory location. This version is recommended for DSG equipped vehicles, vehicles running aftermarket/higher HP tunes or Manual transmission cars using OEM lower auxiliary radiator brackets.
For cars not equipped with lower radiators, brackets and ducting will be needed. Please see the fitment notes for more information.
Track Testing
529 Innovations customer Kyle (@Blackcat.Racing) gave track testing data and feedback on the oil cooler kit. Below are the test parameters, parts list, and relevant test data:
- Vehicle:
- 2017 Golf R with EQT Ethanol Tune
- Relevant Modifications:
- iABED gen 2 oil cooler plate
- 529Innovations prototype oil cooler system
- CSF main and aux radiators (manual transmission car)
- CJM INDUSTRIES hood vent and radiator ducting
- Test Conditions - Road ATL:
- Test 1 mid 90°F (32°c) (no oil cooler) - 8 laps
- Test 2 mid 82°F (27°c) (oil cooler) - 12 laps
â Fitment Notes
For cars not equipped with lower radiators, brackets and ducting will be needed. Please see the information at the bottom of this page for part numbers.
Trimming of the ducting/fog light area behind the bumper may be required for proper ducting and air flow.
