Texas 2K (TX2K) requires no introduction for those of you who are familiar with it. For those that are not, TX2K is one of the biggest drag racing events in the country. The event takes place every year at Houston Raceway, drawing tens of thousands of fans and hundreds of participating drivers, cars, and teams. If you’re into fast cars, this is the place to be every spring.

Cooled by CSF at TX2K

CSF has become synonymous with performance cooling in the drag racing world. Countless competitors at these types of events run CSF and with good reason. CSF has a proven track record for producing the highest performing and most durable cooling systems on the market. While charge-air-cooler manifolds may get most of the press coverage because of their visibility, CSF Radiator, Oil Coolers, Intercoolers, and Intercooler Cores are hiding behind bumpers and under hoods.

Race Results – CSF Highlights

Fastest BMW + Tx2K record

The Shop CT‘s G42 M240i xDrive set the world record for fastest BMW a little over a month ago braking into the 7’s (7.953 at 172.10 mph). The team got hard to work on some tweaks and improvements for Texas 2K and they definitely paid off. This M240i prominently features the CSF B58 Race X Manifold (CSF #8400) which has been instrumental in keeping all that boost pressure and heat under control.

Hard work, preparation, and tuning adjustments by the legendary John Visconti paid off with another record run at 7.91 seconds at 176 mph. We are pretty confident that they’ll be setting even more records as the season goes on.

1500HP AWD BMW M240i – The QUICKEST & FASTEST BMW IN THE WORLD!

A90 Shootout Winner

KLM Race is pretty well known in the Supra/BMW community for their Turbo Kits. A lot of the fasted B58 & S58 powered cars out there run their systems. So it’s only fitting they would take home a W at TX2K. Their A90 Supra features the full CSF B58 6-Peice Cooling Package and is making over 1200 HP.

1st Place – Elite 8 Roll Race

Horsepower Lounge & Wayne Potts took 1st place in the Elite 8 roll race competition with their 2015 Lamborghini Huracan piloted by Rolando Resto. Their winning run was done with an ET of 7.571 seconds at 219.72 mph. CSF Intercooler Cores keeping the heat in check on this 3000+ HP Huracan.

1st Place – Sport Class Roll Race

3:16 Speed & Charlie Turbos edged out the competition in Sport Class with their 2020 Lamborghini Huracan driven by Manny Costales. This hard fought battle was one with the Huracan rocketing to the finish line with an ET of 7.709 seconds at 195.93 mph. This Lambo also relies on CSF Intercooler Cores to keep those charge air temps in check.

Fastest McLaren

McLaren’s aren’t the most common drag cars in the world. However, that didn’t stop Mark Cyrus Jr & Cicio Performance building this absolute monster of a 720S. Fastest McLaren might sound like an honorary title, but this car also took 2nd Place in DCT Class so it’s no slouch. This car is running our newly redesigned McLaren 720S/765LT Intercoolers. This new Intercooler System will be available soon.

Fastest Porsche

The title of fastest Porsche at TX2K was the AIM Performance & PcarGarage 992 Turbo S with the ES Motor ES1100 kit. ES Motor works closely with CSF offering custom and drop-in fit cooling system for their Porsche builds. This 992 is no exception and we expect to see it upgraded even more over by next years event.

Personal Bests and Other Cooled by CSF Cars

There were too many Cooled by CSF vehicles competition to cover them all. Here are a few we managed to snag photos of and keep tabs on during the competition.

Titan Motorsports A90 Supras

Titan Motorsports has been a powerhouse in the drag racing world for years. Famous for some of their MK4 (A80) Supra builds, and more recently their A90s. Over the past couple years they’ve build some of the highest horsepower and fastest B58 powered cars in the US. Their very own A90 Supra has been quite the project and they’ve been pushing hard to make it into the elusive 7 second club with it. They succeeded this year at TX2K with a new PB of 7.864 seconds at 177.30 mph. Driven by Adil Adams, this is now the second fasted A90 in the world.

Ryan Goberdhan‘s A90 also set a couple new PBs at the event. While it isn’t in the 7 second club yet, 8.82 second at 151 mph is a great time. It’s always exciting to see the cars and drivers improve at every event.

GapzillaRacing R35 GTR

GapzillaRacing is a fitting name for this R35 build by RAMPAGE FABRICATION & DESIGN. Steve broke multiple personal best records at TX2K this year with his best numbers coming in at 7.48 seconds and 193.94 mph in the 1/4 mile.

Looking Foward

The event was absolutely fantastic with so many great achievements. Many Cooled by CSF cars took podium finishes as well as many others setting new Personal Bests. TX2K is always an amazing event and we are very much looking forward to next year.
