From the desert to the mountains, and where the turf meets the surf, Toyota’s FJ Cruiser was designed as the “go-anywhere SUV.” With its 4.0-liter V6 engine that puts out 260 horsepower and 271lb-ft torque, it has more than enough power to hit the trails, but still has the smooth look to be able to cruise PCH. Some of the earlier released models are coming of age, and the need to replace the original radiator is becoming increasingly apparent. CSF has developed another industry exclusive – a new all-aluminum high-performance radiator to keep the Toyota FJ Cruiser and 4Runner cool!

The Premier Toyota FJ Cruiser Radiator

Many FJs are getting into the hands of off-road enthusiasts for its rugged yet quirky design, reliability, and off-road capabilities. The performance and aftermarket parts catalog for the FJ continues to grow, and whenever engine performance increases, the burden on the cooling system also rises. It’s one thing to drive a racecar and have overheating or leak issues on the track, where the safety team can easily tow you back to the pits. Getting stuck on a trail or in the desert in the middle of nowhere can be quite a challenge, as things can easily turn into a real-life episode of Man Vs. Wild with Bear Grylls.

Have the peace of mind that your durable and more efficient CSF all-aluminum radiator will take you where you want to go… and then get you back!

CSF’s new radiator comes complete with CSF’s industry-leading and exclusive B-tube technology, that increases the heat dissipation by approximately 15% over regular tubes, as well as multi-louvered fins to maximize airflow through the radiator core. It’s 100% TIG-welded construction ensures a higher level of reliability and durability compared to the OEM plastic tanks, which may become brittle or susceptible to cracking over 5+ years of use (especially when driven in extreme driving conditions). Although the CSF unit has over 50% more capacity than the OEM unit (31mm 1-row B-Tube core versus 27mm 1-row core), it is still a “drop-in fit,” requiring no modifications to install – a true plug-and-play upgrade and replacement solution, topped off with CSF’s signature 1-hour mirror polish to make it pop! The Toyota FJ Cruiser radiator by CSF is the best you can get.

CSF’s high performance radiator is significantly thicker than the older OEM unit – allowing for more cooling capacity and better heat transfer efficiency.

Our good friend Larry Chen, from SpeedHunters recently upgraded his stock radiator to CSF’s High-Performance Radiator. Larry uses his FJ as a production vehicle to lug all his gear and get to various locations for unique photo shoots and event coverage. In his recent article, he captured some installation photos that shows the comparison of the stock unit versus the CSF High-Performance Radiator.

“Our friends at CSF Racing supplied an aluminum dual-pass radiator, which as you can see is much beefier than the stock one. “This will definitely be able to take the abuse that I am going to throw at it, while keeping the FJ cool in the most extreme desert temperatures.”

CSF really needs to make an all aluminum radiator for the 2003-2009 4.7L V8 4Runner. I’m about to have to buy a Koyo just to get one for my truck but would really rather go with CSF.

    Hello,

I have an external transmission cooler to suplimint the oem radiator cooler. Does this radiator have a transmission cooler that is better than the original so I can eliminate the external one?

    Hello Geoff,

The CSF #7076 does feature a built in transmission oil cooler similar to that of the factory. Due to the improved cooling capacity of the radiator, it will perform better than the factory unit. This may be enough to allow you to remove the external transmission cooler, however that will depend on other modifications and the type of driving you are doing with your FJ. Many customers have run our radiator without an external/secondary transmission cooler while off-roading, but this may not be true for all applications as there are so many factors involved with each application.
